This is a new role in response to a rising number of pupils with identified special educational needs and the successful candidate will support the SENCO by identifying, mapping, delivering and facilitating strategies which enable pupils with additional needs to make good progress in all areas of school life.  The post-holder will be familiar with the SEN Code of Practice and the EHCP process, and will identify and oversee a range of effective interventions to address individuals’ specific needs, including meeting EHCP outcomes.  Using their specialist knowledge, the successful candidate will also deliver targeted learning activities in one-to-one, small group and whole class settings undertaking the role of a classroom teacher.  The post holder will support the inclusion/pastoral team in identifying unmet SEND needs and addressing associated behaviours with appropriate strategies across school.

Our Inclusion Department is well-resourced with excellent facilities and a large, friendly and supportive team of TAs and HLTAs who will also deliver key interventions identified by the SEND Teacher.

This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated and experienced teacher who wishes to develop their career within the SEND field and really make a difference to the pupils in their care. Supporting children to achieve happiness through success is a cornerstone of school life at Hyde and applications are invited from creative and ambitious colleagues who can make a positive contribution to our continuous school improvement and our inclusive ethos.
