Music lessons at Hyde are practical, challenging, relevant, inspiring & fun. All students are given the opportunity to; learn how to play a range of instruments, sing, perform, compose, use the latest music technology & listen and think about a wide range of music in a thoroughly well-resourced department. Performance, Composition, Technology & Appraisal skills are developed & assessed through a bespoke & engaging curriculum, to prepare students for GCSE & BTEC Music and ultimately a successful career in Music. Feedback is provided for students in Progress Booklets & Class Progress Grids, to ensure that progress is rapid & that every student is challenged.
Hyde Music Department aims to develop confidence, resilience, creativity, self-discipline & social skills both in lessons and through performances in the local & wider community. Excellence is rewarded & celebrated with stickers, badges & trips to watch a range of live music throughout the year. Extra-curricular music is open to everyone with a variety of 1-1 lessons, clubs (Hyde Records) & groups (Hyde Wind Band, Hyde Voices & Rock Bands) on offer.
