Music lessons at Hyde are practical, challenging, relevant, inspiring & fun. All students are given the opportunity to; sing & perform on a range of instruments, compose, use the latest music technology and listen & study a wide range of music in a thoroughly well-resourced department.
Our bespoke & engaging curriculum aims to prepare students for GCSE, Tech Award & a successful career in Music by developing performance, composition, technology, listening & appraisal skills, whilst also developing musical knowledge.
Extra-curricular music is open to everyone with a variety of 1-1 lessons, clubs, groups & activities on offer. Feedback for students is provided in Progress Booklets & Grids, as well as verbally to ensure that progress is rapid & that every student is challenged.
Hyde Music Department aims to develop confidence, resilience, creativity, self-discipline & social skills both in lessons and through performances in the local & wider community. Excellence is rewarded & celebrated with stickers, badges, certificates, postcards & trips to watch a range of live music throughout the year.
