A hardworking man from Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, Mr Eyre gained a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics at the University of Liverpool. He worked for 2 years at a coal mine in his home county, gaining valuable life experience, before deciding to complete a PGCE at the University of Manchester. He began teaching at Hyde in 1995. He worked for a year as a Lead Teacher at a school in Salford, but chose to return to Hyde, working as Head of Mathematics, then more recently as an Assistant Headteacher.
