Senior Deputy Headteacher - Pastoral, Safeguarding DSL, Character, Life Skills, Discipline and Co–Curricular

Mr Carey gained a Business Studies BA (Hons) degree at university in Sheffield in 2005 which incorporated an industry placement within logistics and quality assurance sectors. He qualified as a teacher in 2007 and was appointed to establish a successful Business Studies department in 2008. Mr Carey has specialised in English having been appointed with teaching and learning responsibilities for curriculum, outcomes, and literacy strategies since 2010. He secured the NPQML and qualified as a coach with the Manchester University CEL. He has been a member of Senior Leadership Teams since 2013. Mr Carey has held the position of Deputy Head Teacher responsible for Quality of Education since 2017 and as Acting Head Teacher for a period in 2020. He joined Hyde High School in 2022 and is proud to be Senior Deputy Head Teacher responsible for pastoral care and safeguarding. He is Level 3 DSL trained and is completing the NPQH. He lives at home with his wife and two children.
