Uniform 2025/2026

Being punctual, looking smart and being prepared for the school day makes up part of our ‘Ready’ rule. Students should wear their uniform with pride and we believe that looking professional and presentable is a key part of preparing students for life after school. A clear ready policy makes this fair for all students.  The uniform is distinctive and is therefore easy to check.

Equipment:

We expect all students to carry a school bag as detailed above, containing the following: a blue/black and green and red pen, pencil, ruler and rubber. Please refer to the equipment image for more details.

PE Kit:

PE Legwear – students have a choice of:

  • Black shorts or tracksuit bottoms with Hyde logo (girls and boys).
  • Black skort or leggings with Hyde logo.

PE Tops

  • Royal blue polo shirt with Hyde logo.

Trainers

Trainers can be any colour but must be appropriate for sporting activities. Canvas pumps, Converse, Vans etc are not suitable for PE as they do not provide appropriate support and may lead to injury.

Optional PE Wear

  • Year 7, 8 and 9: Royal blue hooded sweatshirt with Hyde logo is optional for wear in PE lessons in cold weather.
  • Year 10 and 11: Black hooded sweatshirt with Hyde logo is optional for wear in PE lessons in cold weather.

Please note, hoodies cannot be worn outside of PE lessons.

Years 7 and 8 will change into PE kit during their PE lessons.  All other pupils are able to wear their PE kit on the days they have PE only. Blazers must be worn over the top of PE kit and will be removed at the beginning of the lesson. On colder days students are able to wear their V-neck school jumper on top of PE kit outside of PE lessons.

The school blazer is to be worn at all times; however, staff may give permission for blazers to be removed during lesson time and students may remove these as they wish when outside.  Likewise, during extreme hot weather, and at the discretion of the Headteacher, blazers may be removed.

To avoid buying any item of uniform over the summer that is not permitted, please contact [email protected] and we will be able to advise you. This email account will be checked each week.

Threshold Systems

It is crucial that we are vigilant and ensure that students are smart and punctual. The standards we set will determine how the community perceives us. As such students’ uniform is checked each morning via our threshold teams. Any students who do not have the correct uniform will be supported by being issued with the correct uniform, in exchange for a deposit. Students who have wilfully arrived in incorrect uniform or without their planner will be issued with an hour’s detention. We appreciate support from parents and carers in ensuring students arrive fully prepared, each day.
