Assistant Headteacher - Teaching & Learning

Mrs. Eastwood gained a BA HONS degree in French and German Language and Literature from Manchester Metropolitan University. During her degree she lived abroad for a year studying French and German and teaching English at universities in Bremen and Bordeaux. After graduating she worked in international sales for Vymura wallcoverings plc and the Seamark group, specifically working with French, German, Spanish & Italian companies. After several years working in industry she made a career change and completed her Post Graduate Certificate of Education at the University of Manchester to teach French, German & Spanish and has been teaching at Hyde High School since 2000. In 2003 she succeeded in becoming an Advanced Skills Teacher in Primary Languages. As well as teaching at Hyde High School she taught in many feeder primary schools, training primary colleagues to teach languages & leading Teaching & Learning secondary teacher training for Tameside Local Authority. She was a finalist for the Teacher of the Year Award and in 2009 she joined the National Future Leaders Programme and began her role of Assistant Headteacher leading Teaching and Learning staff training programmes in pedagogy, leadership and classroom management. In 2018 she was awarded Specialist Leader of Education status and developed curriculum networks in all subjects for Tameside schools.
